Camstudio is very useful and practical to use in a teaching environment. In yesterday's class I created a demo on how to use the address book for our email environment. When I played it for the gr 4 children they were very attentive and listened well w/o being distracted by me using the mouse or keyboard. I then had it looping for the rest of the lesson for them to follow. After the lesson I have shrunk it to email size and posted it to the grades' myclasses page (an LMS environment). As a result the children can access the demos from home and show their parents what they are learning in Info Tech lessons. I have uploaded the compressed movies for those who'd like to view them. Let me know what you think!

I enjoyed the camstudio tutorial, more for the opportunities that the technique provides rather than the specifics of the program. It is auditory and visual, students can rewatch the clips, do it at there own pace - has a lot going for it. So thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the tutorial on Camstudio. It was interesting to watch and compare to Jing. By far camstudioe offers the user more choices and the fact that you can save it to My document is a bonus.
Being able to do screen shots of how to is a real help in a classroom. I will now give it a go. Thanks again Sue
I found your tutorial on Camstudio really interesting. I especially liked the examples of how you have used it as a teaching tool and can't wait to try it out. I have only used Jing, which seems slower and you are limited to 5 minutes, which can be frustrating. I also like the ability to easily edit using other software programs. Thanks

HI Andrew
After watching the How to Open Word tutorial, I wondered if it would help to script it, record it and have a second go after taking out about half the words.
This would leave you with a sparse but more to the point tutorial.
This applies more to me because I waffle on so much.

Hi Andrew,
A really enjoyable and useful tutorial; thanks for the work you put in. I can see it being useful as a teaching tool especially because the students can work at their own pace, watching and re-watching the clips. Will try it out!
Cheers,
Julian
